Workforce Capability: The Critical Infrastructure Behind the UK's Industrial Strategy

360 Skills Training Limited

The UK is entering one of the most significant periods of industrial transformation in generations. From clean energy and advanced manufacturing to defence, transport and infrastructure, government investment is creating unprecedented opportunities for economic growth. Yet one challenge runs through every national strategy and major programme: building workforce capability at the pace delivery demands.

At 360 Skills Training, we believe people are the UK's most important critical infrastructure. Investment in technology and infrastructure only delivers value when there is a skilled workforce capable of designing, delivering, operating and maintaining it.

Our mission is simple: build workforce capability and get people job-ready in days, not years.

Traditional education remains essential, but many employers and public sector organisations cannot wait years for new capability to emerge. They need practical, flexible training that develops skills rapidly while supporting productivity, economic growth and measurable Social Value.

360 Skills Training specialises in Government-funded Skills Bootcamps and employer-led workforce development programmes aligned with the UK's Industrial Strategies and employer demand across Advanced Manufacturing, Nuclear and Green Skills.

Our programmes cover Nuclear, Advanced Manufacturing, Digital Manufacturing, 3D CAD, Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cyber Security, Electric Vehicle Maintenance and other emerging technologies. Every programme is employer-designed, centred on practical application, recognised qualifications and real-world employability.

Supporting national priorities

The Government has identified advanced manufacturing, clean energy and defence as strategic growth sectors. Each shares one common requirement—a skilled workforce.

Nowhere is this more evident than within the UK's expanding nuclear sector, which requires around 40,000 additional workers by 2030 across project management, engineering, manufacturing and supply chains.

To help address this challenge, we have developed workforce readiness programmes that enable career switchers, new entrants and existing employees to become productive contributors more quickly.

Supporting public sector procurement

Training is no longer simply an educational activity; it is a strategic delivery mechanism that helps organisations recruit, upskill and retain talent while strengthening local economies and delivering measurable Social Value.

For contracting authorities, 360 Skills Training can be procured through compliant Crown Commercial Service routes, including:

  • RM6237 – Low Value Purchase System
  • RM6348 – Adult Skills & Learning Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)

These frameworks provide a compliant, efficient route to procure high-quality workforce development programmes aligned with local and national skills priorities.

Our senior leadership team comprises experienced industry professionals who remain actively engaged with organisations including the Nuclear Institute, Nuclear, Aerospace and Automotive Alliances, Wales Nuclear Forum, NOF and Advanced Manufacturing UK. This ensures our programmes continue to reflect current employer demand and future workforce requirements.

Social Value built in—not bolt on

Social Value is embedded throughout everything we do.

Using the National TOMs framework, we have generated more than £3 million of Social and Local Economic Value since 2021 while helping clients deliver against their own procurement and Social Value objectives.

Our impact includes:

  • Donating over £400,000 of advanced manufacturing equipment to businesses and communities.
  • Supporting more than 400 schools and education providers.
  • Providing over 750,000 young people with access to Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Supporting 2,500+ learners, with a strong focus on priority, under-represented and disadvantaged groups.
  • Creating employment, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities.
  • Developing our LIFT (Local Industry Funded Training) programme and mobile STEAM outreach initiative to inspire future talent.
  • Winning the 'People Power – Skills Leading Change' Award at the UK Nuclear Skills Awards 2026.

By integrating workforce development with Social Value delivery, we help public sector organisations maximise both economic and community outcomes from their investment.

Looking ahead

The UK's ambitions for economic growth, energy security and industrial transformation are achievable, but success depends on investing in people as much as infrastructure.
We believe workforce capability should be recognised as critical national infrastructure.

When organisations invest in skills, they strengthen supply chains, improve productivity, accelerate project delivery and create sustainable careers that benefit communities for generations.

That philosophy underpins everything we do at 360 Skills Training.

We are not simply delivering training courses—we are building scalable workforce capability solutions that help government, employers and communities deliver the UK's industrial future at pace.
